So,

Why are the QR skewers so important? Just read a review in mtbr which said that some skewers were 'horrendous'... really?

    Er..... Maybe it's because they hold your wheels on?

    I'd say that was fairly important!
  • So unless your wheels are falling off every 5 minutes - what seperates a Hope skewer to one found on my girlfriend's Raleigh?

    They are both inferior to Shimano :wink:

    Just wish Shimano would make some seatclamps, some bigger QR's (9 and 10mm) and offered colourful options

    the one on the Raleigh works better.

    a bit more of an informative answer...


    Hope skewers are hard to get tight enough and will undo too easily.

    find it hard to beat a set of Deore ones. They just work and stay tight due to the cam.

    shimano or bolt ups for me.

    Shame the shimano ones weigh so much.
