A spare back wheel for the turbo-trainer?

Can anyone offer any advice or direct me towards someone who can in regard to getting hold of a nice, cheap back-wheel with sproket so that I can use it exclusively for my turbo-trainer?
Then I'd be able to whip it off when I want to go out on the road without all the faff of taking my turbo tyre off each time and replacing it with one for the road.
I've tried bike shops but they want to sell me a new and expensive wheel while I remain convinced that there MUST be a way to get hold of an inexpensive wheel for this purpose.
All help/advice gratefully received...

My LBS kept an eye out for someone replacing their old wheels and gave me the old one. The brake surface is worn but that doesn't matter on the turbo. I had to buy a cassette and trainer tire.
Else, classifieds asking for peoples old wheels when they upgrade or need to replace.0 -
Look at the classifieds, people often sell them in there. Or have a word with your local bike shop, or have a word with the guys at your local tip/recycling centre.
You'll need a cassette and a trainer specific tyre too
Or you can get a pair for about £60 from Ribble: http://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/sp/road-t ... HIMWHFR200
Or look at the ebay...http://www.georgesfoundation.org

No it isn't. I've been keeping an eye on ebay for some time looking for an old wheel for the turbo and so far all the ones I've seen have gone for stupid prices.0 -
this is about 30 quid, but call first to check it'll match the cassette you want to use

Not sure if there is one local to you, but Decathlon has really cheap wheels for sale. In the neighborhood of £30 for the rear wheel only. You'd need to buy a cassette also.0
