Hi,
I am having some problems with my Gore Phantom 2 jacket this winter . I am finding my front section is soaked in sweat and also the inner of the jacket is also very wet . I have tried various base layers from Endura and Craft but they become saturated with sweat and then it gets very cold on the stomach. I thought the soft shell was supposed to wick the sweat away from inside to the outer and then it evaporates . Could I have damaged the breathability of it by washing , I followed the washing instructions . Does anyone else suffer from cold wet tum tums ??? :(

Thanks for any info

Andy B

Not to that extent. I have an Assos 851 and it has to be bloody cold for me to actually need it. It may feel cold when I set off but any significant level of effort and I will sweat in it. Went out on Sunday in just a long sleeve jersey and that was plenty. I think the temptation is to overdress as it feels cold when you leave a nice warm house.
