mods/ forum experts - imaginary PMs?

sorry, dont really know where to post this so in thje crud catcher it goes!

last night and this morning Ive received 3 or 4 emails alerting me of a new private message but when i log in, there are no messages?

ive had about 7-8 emails alerting for PMs (probably RE stuff in the classifieds), but only had 4 actual messages

have i broken the forum?

does anyone know whats going on there? only thing i can think of is messages being deleted before i've read them. can you delete a PM from your outbox before the recipient has read it?

    IIRC if they get deleted from the senders out box before they are read then they dont "arrive".

    cool, thanks nicklouse. thats what i was wondering. its really annoying though, get my hopes up for nothing :lol:
