Mudguards and Vertical Cycle Rack

The cycle racks at work, which I have to use, involve hanging the bike vertically from the front wheel. The racks look like these http://www.cycle-works.com/product_info.php?prod_id=42

The problem with this is that when hung vertically if you have mudguard on the front it's then between the rack the wheel and getting bent, scratched etc which I don't want.

This leaves 2 options either fit a front mudguard on the down tube or fit some kind of quick release mudguard.

Suggestions?

Those racks are exactly like the ones in our bike locker. The only thing I can recommend is changing your mudguard to a top tube mounted job as you can't change the bike racks. My Cycra Guards are good :)
