Hi,
I need to start to train a bit more and the old bike is getting worn out. After 15 yrs of service its up for replacement. I am about to get permanently employed but it is taking too long. So i might as well take advantage of the offers in the new year.
Budget: topping out at £1000
Looking at: Willier LaTriestina Mirage - seen for under £900 (xl)
Need: big frame, 6'2" height and current bike is 61cm, this really shortens the list in offers.
Seen anything?
Or should I go 2nd hand?
Ta

Plenty of very good brand new bikes to be had at £1,000 price-point. Oh and sorry i haven't taken into consideration your height (stock e.t.c). At 6' 2" you should be ok on a 58cm (with probs. a 110 or 120mm stem). I'm 6' 1" and i ride a 57cm and 56cm frames.
I dunno how knowledgeable you are about groupsets but of those quoted above Ultegra is best then Rival/105 with arguably Rival being better.0 -
Giant TCR 2. Looks fantastic
Orbea Aqua
Caad 9 or even 10 if you are very lucky.
Or low end carbon frame.A Devonian in Norway0 -
try looking for last years models at local shops...I recently got a heck of a deal buying a 2010 Caad 8 at a local shop. Even though they didn't have my frame size in stock, they were able to order one of the last 3 their distributor had in stock, in that frame size.0

Boardman Team Carbon. Brilliant bike, but double check everything with the bike on collection.0

I was in the same position in July. The spec and quality of the Boardman Team Carbon was way ahead of most. And the only ones that came close were mail order, which I didn't want with a £1k bike.
The bike has proved to be far better than I was expecting and Halfords set it up perfectly.Boardman Elite SLR 9.2S
