Had my 2009 Marin Palisades Trail since Oct 09, prob done about 1800 miles on it, although all road as I use it for my daily commute
Popped into http://www.fudgescyclestore.com/ in Epsom as I work 2 mins away, to buy a chain & happened to mention a crack by a weld on the chain side trailing arm on the inside edge of the crank. They said I should take it back to cycleworks where I bought it in Leatherhead, they know them well in there.
They said if I have no joy they can try with the distributor in the area on my behalf, but what do you reckon my chances are? Anyone know the warranty length on Marin frames?
As they said it's had no obvious knocks & I look after it

Marins have a 3 year warranty, though if you had taken out the Platinum Care scheme they extend this to a limited life time warranty

They won't. Marin warranty is excellent. Unusual to crack though, I've hammered a basic hardtail over all sorts of stuff for years with no problems, and I'm a bit chunky.I don't do smileys.

Well the good news is I picked up my new (well sort of) bike today.
Framed changed under warranty & gone from a white 2009 Palisades Trail to a (year??) black Nail Trail
I requested a new rear cassette, chain & front mech, £71 in total after discount as I'd bought the bike there....................... and that’s all I’ve ended up paying
Bike rides so smoothly having being set up properly, as on my old bike after 1800 miles all felt a bit tired.
New cables, headset etc etc, all assembled for free so a big thanks to Cycleworks in Leatherhead

marin replaced my 5 year old mountvision frame (which was itself a waranty replacement) with an 09 MV frame and new suspension unit. my seat tube had cracked near a weld.
no problems with marin/atb, but i did go through the shop i bought my origin whyte/s from in the first place.
marin/atb are great in this respect and other makers would have to make a truly exceptional xc bike for me to 'stray'.--
