Anyone looking forward to anything in particular?

Seems to be a few remakes in there like total recall and game tie-ins like bioshock.

looks like a good year for movies.

Green Lantern, Transformers 3, Captain America, Real Steel (no idea what this is but like the look of it), 11.11.11 (I'm hoping this is a decent horror), Bioshock, District 10, Ghostbusters 3, Rambo 5, Sin City 2, Terminator 5, Kane & Lynch.

Few films I'm not looking forward to; Scream, Scary Movie, Saw 8, Monopoly (Yes, they're making a movie of it)

Yes... he's in and also directing it.... won't be the best Rambo but still worth the watch, it's supposed to be completely different to the normal jungle thing etc

Bioshock is not until 2013 now!!! Gutted, but at least part 3 of the game is out soon.

I only know of the green lantern and captain america from cartoon appearances etc, never seen them in their own cartoons etc.

I'm basing my liking of the bioshock movie on the game which I thought was good.

Curious to see Super 8. A combination of Spielberg and JJ Abrams can only be a good thing

  • I will add I'm disappointed to see them remaking The Thing... not needed at all.

Battle LA looks interesting, Statham's new one (The mechanic) looks like cheesy piss (will still prob download). I'll be happy to watch 28 months later (even if I felt the second film was nowhere near as good as the first), the Alien film has Ridley Scott and that = win.

2012 though already looks like it'll be a more interesting year for films

the thing isnt a remake as such - its the story of the finnish/norwegian? base and happens before carpenter's story - read an article about the filming etc. and they seem very keen to reference carpenter's film (planting all sorts of clues and equipment that appear in the 80s film) without trying to remake the whole thing.

of course - carpenter's thing was a remake anyway ...

Loved the '84 version of The Thing - still one of my favourites 8) . Looking forward to the prequel, hope it doesn't disappoint.

Good clip from the Kurt Russell version here:
