Magure MArta brake pads?

Background is that I have fitted lightweight discs, which being more air than metal in the braking surface, are not stopping me well, more of a gentle retardation.
I noticed that the pads are not sweeping over the whole braking surface so am looking at fitting, a different set of pads to my magura calipers, the grey ones in the pictures. These appear to have a taller pads so will sweep more of the disc (another option would be to move the caliper in - or was it out? by 2 or 3 mm but that is not possible).
For comparison, the pads I have currently fitted are like the red ones, so not as tall as the grey ones.
So really what I am asking is can I fit the grey ones, to my calipers or could the grey ones be modified to fit?
Don't suppose anyone has a set of the grey ones they are binning so I can see for myself?

what caliper are the grey ones made for?"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

red - magura marta, mine is on a 2007 bike
grey - magura marta, 2009
so there is a difference but not too much, I hope. I am sure I have seen the red ones with friction area resembling the grey ones i.e., extra segments on the top and bottom if you know what I mean.0
