The poploc on my rebas has started playing up already. Despite GT85 and a partial strip down its still go the standard stickness that evbody seems to metion when trying to return. I'm temped to bin the whole thing and go over to a manual lock out given that it seems quite straightforward.

Is it best to bin it or can it be made reliable ?

strip clean and use a gear wire and a brake outer.

also check there is no crud under the cap. (on the fork).

    Nick,

had the LBS strip down and relube, but it still sticks. Fine engaging but refuses to release for unlocking. Could it be a dodgy lockout / floodgate ?

I know it doesn't really solve your problem, but if you wanna get rid of the poploc then you can just un-hook / dissconnect the spring in the damper and just use it manually.
top caps from manual lockout forks are pretty pricey, i just made a small lever that secured with the grub screw that was for the cable, works fine and cost £0 !!

Thanks, I'd really just like it to work. I've been doing some research and it does seem to be a common problem. Several threads refer to a swelling of a part inside the fork so I'll see if I can find out more information. TFtuned apparently do a replacement part ?
  • Spent my whole dinner hour plus an hour after work today trying to sort the same problem.

I'm not impressed with the pop-loc and am seeking a manual cap.

Can anyone point me in the right direction of a manual lever?

Is the PushLoc more reliable? I currently have PushLoc but was thinking about fitting PopLoc adjustable...

Or would I be better fitting an old thumb shifter?

I agree they're a pain is the arse, nothing but hassle.
  • Have you changed the inner and outer cables, if not it's likely to be a seal inside the top of the Moco unit itself, which are fairly easily replaceable and available.
