Hi, I'm looking to buy a frame which has a tapered 1 1/8" to 1.5" headtube. I was planning to take my forks off another bike and fit them on - they are 2008 Fox Vanilla RL 140mm forks. Will these fit?

The new frame also has dropout for 9mm QR/dropout for 12mm x 135mm/dropout for 12mm x 142mm - I'm not sure what that means but I was planning to fit my Sun SOS P1 wheelset with Deore centre lock disc hubs - any idea if these will fit?

Thanks

Stanny

what size is the steerer on your forks?

new rear wheel needed (or a hub and rebuild)

Not sure, I've tried to find out if that fork came in one size or different sizes in 2008 but no luck so far. I know it's not tapered though. I'll have to take fork off and measure I take it?

Thanks for letting me know re: rear wheel.

If the bike your taking the forks off has a standard 1 1/8" headtube you'll be able to use the forks in the new frame with an reducer bottom headset, if the old frame was straight 1.5" headtube your out of luck.

    Thanks D-Cyph3r, fingers crossed it's a 1 1/8. It's a Saracen Zen reynolds 631 frame - I'll try to find out now.

I've checked and it's 1 1/8 had tube so my forks will fit with the new frame with a reducer bottom headset as suggested.

Thanks a lot for your help.
