Setting up my Tora RS318 coil forks...

Are there any setup guides to do this?

I've not setup the pre-load / rebound or travel and on Saturday it felt a little bouncy on some parts of the trail. I increased the pre-load which helped but thought I would spend some time setting them up properly before Gisburn 8)

Any advice appreciated.

    pre-load to give required sag.

rebound set so you dont get thrown off.

That's a little vague in all honesty.

What is the required sag for an AM bike?

How do I set the rebound so I don't get thrown off? Obviously this controls how quickly the fork un-compresses but is there any way you can get a guideline?

I'm aware suspension is usually setup by 'feel' ... but I'm after some advice to get it in the correct ballpark before fine tuning ...

    i'd aim for about 25%

ride it. if it feels like its springing back too quickly or your experiencing an overly bumpy ride, then slow the rebound down (turn it towards the turtle) if it dives under braking, or you seem to be using too much travel on small stuff, turn the motion control towards the plus sign.

the best settings for your own personal preference will most likely change with different terrain and riding types, its hard to advise you how to set it up, as what feels good for me, might not feel right to you.

if you really want some 'base' settings, just set the rebound and motion control to half way, then just ride, make small adjustments and learn what the adjustments do, and how altering them changes the feel of the bike. then play with the settings until it feels 'right'

so you did not read the manual?

and yes it is vague as you dont ride like me or fred ot jane or.....

it is that simple. set sag. only you know what feels right to you. and then the rebound to what is right for you.
