Hi,

whos the best bike fitter in the northwest?

Coming from running I have a few niggles and think it's best to get properly fitted.

I'm in the Bolton area.

Cheers

It's such an important thing I'd consider travelling. My recommendation is Adrian Timmis at www.cadencesport.co.uk. He's about an hour and three quarters from Bolton.
I had niggles with my knees, lower back and neck. He did a sterling job, discovered I had a leg length descrepancy and sorted it all out. You also get free custom footbeds which are absolutely tremendous. £100 quid :)
It's also nice spending 3 hours chatting with a former Top level pro!

  • +1 for Paul Hewitt. Don't expect repartee and merry banter - just a top job fitting you to a bike!

No, you remember rightly, but it didn't 'make me buy it per say. It was a case of what budget i had at the time and that particular frame 'fitted' me. It was either that or an Orbea - can't remember which model. Hasten to add i chose the Kuota.
  • +1 for cadence sport, Footbeds alone worth the money.
  • I may be wrong, but Paul Hewitts does a static fit. So hell put you on a jig and measure optimum set up of bars, seat and pedals. He will ask questions about aches and pains. And he will check cleat position on shoe. At least this is what I got.

What he didnt do is a dynamic analysis or a comprehensive shoe fitting.

Im guessing this is adequate for newbies or enthusiasts and hobbyists.Am guessing if you are the next level up then the edge that dynamic analysis and proper shoe fitting will be worth the extra

Has to be said though. It shaved 5 minutes off my 50 minute commute home. I can definately feel more power is getting through. Too early to say if its cured numb hands and back pain issues.

That is quite true however the fitting is also free if you buy a bike from him. I would only pursue dynamic analysis or shoe fitting should you actually suffer bad discomfort or pain which shouldn't be confused with un-seasoned fitness or poor form.

I can't wait, not got it till April because my Cervelo won't be built up until March. Hopefully he will sort out those little niggles out.

All the bars, stem etc I already had around. So I would have to buy new bits anyway. I'm just waiting on funds to get the groupset. Although I think I will give him a ring to discuss crank lengths. I run 170 at the minute and I find them fine but he is the expert after all.
