Hello eveyone, I am going to Scotland in March -specifically loch Awe and am taking my bike with me. I want to do some easy mtb/road rides while i am there. Up to 30m preferably circular but cant find any. I have sent off for a book of routes of the area but I think only a couple apply as the rest will be about 2 hr drive away so if anyone knows this area I would be grateful.
Thanks

Guess you might be there for the fishing then?
A lap of Loch Awe is a good option, small, quietish roads all the way round with only the A85 section at the north end being busy.
Also, you could do some of the West Highland Way, from Bridge of Orchy to Glencoe (then back again) This is abot 40 miles offroad, but amazing scenery. Other one from Bridge of Orchy goes via Victoria Bridge to Loch Etive, this is a route I plan to do this spring.
Head down to Ardgarten and do the Ardgarten forest loop, really good fun, about 20 miles, but a few lungbuster climbs, great decents and superb views. I have done it twice. There is also some more trails up at Arrochar.

No as it happens I dont fish. I went to loch lomond last year and I had a calander showing a castle in the area for christmas and it made me search out where it was! I am there mainly to take photos , walk and do a bit of cycling while there. Last year did a few routes including loch Katrine and loved it!
will have a look at those links. thanks0 -
There are loads of routes around Loch Awe. It has all sorts of tracks and minor roads around the water and further afield, in Eredine Forest and Inverliever Forest. You could cycle there for a year and never hit the same trail. Call in at Crinan Cycles and they'll tell you the routes and provide you with a free leaflet with maps and directions.
