Love that shade of green. :o
  • Both lovely, but definately a fan of the green kona! But I've gotta ask... Is that a bell on the handle bar?!
  • That Kona is quite nice! Good build looks like!

The spesh is quite nice as well. I really want a hardtail just to do quick fitness runs on, and save me heavy bike for the more serious stuff. Would be prime!

You've got a nice pair there mate......looks like humungus wide bars on the Kona (or is it the angle of the pic?). What size are they, just out of interest?

There are some changes in the pipeline,
I want a 70mm stem, I like the look of the ODI one.
    I want a dropper post
Bigger rotors front and rear and possibly some goodrich brake hoses

    Lol nice disclaimer, rodney hehe
I am gonna cut them down a tad, there a bit silly.

I was gonna build a hardtail up around a 120mm frame to have as well as the kona but ive been thinking about maybe keeping the specialized and replacing the forks, wheels, bar and stem and changing that to more trail orientated rather than the xc bike it is now.

I would of thought it would be ok with an extra 20mm travel up front?

Sorry to be an anorak but unless I'm mistaken, that's a 2008 Rockhopper Pro

Have a look and see what specialized recommend, travel-wise. I think 120mm may be too much.

Well now. Not updated this for a while but thats because ive been riding it (and crashing it) and not buying new bits lol.

However Ive now decided that a few upgrades are needed.
The areas I think need im proving are:
    The brakes
    I want a dropper post
    Shorter stem
Ditch the big ring and fit a chain device and bash guard.

So here is the brake upgrade:
