Hi I was riding yesterday and completely ripped my trackies on my chain, round my front much. Is there anything I can do to stop this? I don't want to lose my 3rd ring either, just stop it getting caught.

lycra under shorts is acceptable, lycra on its own isn't
clips are your best bet if you want to wear trousers.
either that or ditch your big ring and fit a bash but its not guaranteed to work..0 -
Trouser guard will make you look like a peasant, use trouser clips, shorts with full length lycra underneath or live with it.
Bashguard can work but IMO looks silly on a triple.0 -
Ah I'm confused, my mate has a Beone Kosmos and 3 rings, no trouser clips or lycra, yet his trousers don't get caught and I swear he has some sort of guard.Trek 930 singletrack 06-08

Shorts and lyrca leg/knee warmers look a lot less daft than trackies. For general riding about to school/the shops etc, tuck them in your socks, that's what i do.0

Def tuck into socks. You dont even have to tuck the whole thing in, just the inside which would catch, so you dont look like a numpty.http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtop ... t=12613038Cat With No Tail wrote:Anyway, fk dis, I iz off 4 a ride innit. l8rz peepz0

3/4 length shorts are warm in any conditions. I was fine in mine even at -12 in the snow. Your ankles soon go numb & then the cold doesn't matter.
Bit of cold never hurt anyone.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
