Any advice please as a friend who moved house yesterday and wants to ride tomorrow, managed to break a spoke in the move.

Will he be ok to ride for a couple of (careful) hours?

Any advice gratefully received.

He's quite light!

Thanks and regards

Simon

Should be fine, I had a wheel with a broken spoke once and road on it for quite some time. Actually I broke the axle in it in the end, rest of the spokes still fine.

I've ridden a wheel with a broken spoke for quite some time, on a rigid street/park hardtail. Aside from being a little out of true, it was fine.

Fix is ASAP though....It's not too hard unless it has gone way out of true

  • Thanks guys,

Appears he's found a spare spoke and mended it, though he says it's slightly out of true. Better that than spokeless I guess. He'll get it sorted asap by lbs.

    Cheers again.

I rode Glentress, Inners and Laggan Wolf Black with 3 spokes missing, on a front wheel with only 28 spokes to start with and it held up - you'll be fine with only one down.
