Went out this morning to Billinge Woods in Blackburn and was very impressed with the trail... Very tight and technical in places and rather short but full circuit is around 2 miles according to x motion so you can spend a few hours quite easily looping it around...

Mega wet today so getting up the hills was a struggle due to thick mud although my lack of fitness didn't help... ;0)

I will be certainly going back very soon for more practice!

Cheers to Marc for showing me the ropes!

  • It's my local trails :D...15 mins ride from my house, so I get to miss that climb up from the carpark at the bottom :D.
Hopefully going up there tomorrow for a play.
Did you do the step drops or the "chicken" run on the Tricky 60?

Lol... We parked up on the side of the hill so was easy to ride straight in.. The first hill up to top is a killer!

We did both... Thoroughly enjoyed it too... Was my first outing on the Fury to a technical trail and was pleased how I got on with the bike. Felt pretty fast.

Be warned it's pretty boggy climbing back up the hills ATM due to all the rain! We got absolutely drenched! Still grinning though!

No worries Marc... Itching to go back again although I seem to want to go as fast as possible so only a matter of time before I crash! Lol

  • Haha like me, i went from going quite fast to slowing down after rearranging my shin. Its great as a begginner trail. And sparrow, just go for it, there is some squeaky bum moments but if you commit to it, you can fly round. I actually managed to get some air on the jumps on tricky 60, i want to try the black drop offs tho.
  • Hiya guys. I'm in Tyldesley so not far from you two if you fancy having a ride out somewhere?
Bianchi. There are no alternatives only compromises!
I RIDE A KONA CADABRA -would you like to come and have a play with my magic link?
  • Didn't get up there today...bloody weather, so going up tomorrow and I WILL do that first little drop on the Tricky 60..that and the sharp rock slope just by the black drop offs that are catching me out so far....I should go up more often being so local, I'm just lazy

  • Is the rock slope just after the berm and before the big steep hill?

  • Only been once myself and really liked it. Must get back up there soon; too busy riding from my doorstep at the moment.
  • If anyone rides up there this week and see's a big arseprint about 10 foot from the end of the trail, it's my arseprint, so don't skid on it
    Yes I fell off

  • May have to give it a try when my new bike arrives as i'm only the other side of Bolton it's not exactly a challenge to get too :D
What if your dreams and fears existed in the same place? What if to get to heaven, you had to brave hell? What if everything you've ever wanted cost you everything you've ever achieved? Would you still go there?
  • Does anyone know what state the trail is in? Can I ride it this time of year?
  • Not been up for 6 months. But usually after heavy rain it just has the odd muddy puddle. And the fireroads get a bit muddy. You local Mark? Living in Darwen now so gonna pop up sometime soon.
