it is a common issue. talk to Hope on Monday."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

will email them with some pictures of the hub, just glad ive noticed it as i cycle on some busy roads on my way home from work. :shock:0

note this from their returns page. For ANY wheel coming back - we don't need the tyre and it would be nice if it was at least a little bit clean! Thanks..."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

replaced mine and rebuilt it no probs about 6months ago0

They'll almost certainly sort it for you no bother- Hope are good at sorting out their badly executed products when they go wrongUncompromising extremist0

Consistently hear of good customer service. One of the MTBers on twitter had a hub replaced free of charge out of warranty & They also rebuilt the wheel.Northwind wrote:They'll almost certainly sort it for you no bother- Hope are good at sorting out their badly executed products when they go wrong
I've had a set of Pro 2 hubs for the last 3 years, no problems at all, get a bit of air & generally like to ride rough stuff. Nobody I know has had any probs either. This & the guy on twitter are the only breakages I've heard of. Maybe there's more, but I've not seen it.0 -

there have been many many more posted on here alone."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Interesting, more than other hubs? Why do you reckon some go on for ages & others not? Did they change manufacturing processes or materials at some point?0 -

hell yes. not seen any others mentioned on forums.
seen the Odd radial spoked one go in the shop though."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Not surprised about radials, a lot specifically exclude radial spoking from guarantees.
Is it only Pro 2's or the older ones as well? I've had XC's & now Pro 2 without any problems.0 -
only the Pro2s and I an not surprised the quality compared to my Bulbs is shocking."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I noticed when I was checking dimensions for bulding, the spec changed slightly at some point. Wonder if the quality changed also.0

Yeah, also happened to me. Returned in 3 days with a new hub FOC. Good stuff.0

wehaay there goes another one!
I think Northwind's post a few days back on hope hubs indicated fairly well why hope hubs break.0 -
Yup house mate has broken a flange on the front, and snapped the axle and free hub on his rear in a year. But they build them up again free each time.0

I went for a ride last Sunday only to find the same flange issue in two places on my front Pro2. I inspected the rear and found hairline cracks indicating the same was about to happen. They are both being sorted by Hope as we speak even though they are a few years old.
All products suffer issues from time to time, it's pretty normal. It just makes such a difference when an issue is easily rectified, hassle free. Hats off to Hope customer service.
