Castelli's new coat? £900, seriously would you buy it? And who would? What market is this even aimed at?

  • Surely that's a typo?! That said, I wouldn't buy that at all. Hate the styling (if you can call it that).

  • Damn. Wish I'd seen this before the VAT changed - I might have saved myself £22.50

I was with soundninjauk on this thinking it would be £90. so where does a typo come in for something being sold for £170.MRP

Given write-up on home page too many downs for it even to be worth that IMO.

I'll stay with my Gore Phantom with pockets.

Check the comments at the bottom, it certainly said £900 earlier.

I thought rapha made expensive clothing, but someone pointed out arct'eryx (note the pointless apostrophe) that makes high quality technical outdoors jackets, and some that are just a silly price:

How about this blazer at only £760

It is pretending to be an item of "performance clothing":
Timeless design elements synchronize with modern technology in this versatile Blazer. Anatomical shaping and subtle articulation enhance fit and liberate the wearer. Made with soft and supple WINDSTOPPER® Soft Shell - a completely windproof and highly breathable textile that also resists outside moisture - the lightweight Blazer flows through changing environments by regulating indoor and outdoor comfort.

I think this translates as, "it is a blazer made from (an expensive type of) polyester. "

Not sure about that, check out the RRP on this little beauty:

Is it that hard to believe that someone will come up with one twice the price? They just need to call it the 12 speed...

How can a jacket be 11 speed?

Pah! N00b! Shows what you know! It just can, alright?

I think it's more that it's a jacket which is compatible with an 11 speed groupset, something that a lot of those not in the know overlook. I'm amazed I can use my Shimano gears whilst wearing my Campagnolo gloves - shows what a good job they've done of keeping things generic.
