Cube are far better spec'd at the lower to mid price range from what I can see. You won't be disappointed. The components and build quality of my Peleton which I picked up for £800 (incl Look Keos) is great.
Always be yourself, unless you can be Aaron Rodgers....Then always be Aaron Rodgers.
  • Another for the cube agree, I have the agree gtc pro and love it, the money you save can be spent on a few upgrades and the start of a pot of money for a trip to the Alps :) , the only thing I have changed is putting on a Fizik saddle and a pair of Shimano RS80s wheels

  • I had a similar dilemma, but finally was seduced by a Cube Agree GTC SL for £1780, and I dont regret it at all. A fantastic bike for the money. Previous bike was a Trek 1.2 so I had a bit of brand loyalty, but actually I think you are just paying for the name.
The Cube is a quality machine and I see a lot of MTB forum Cube discussion and they are highly rated off road.

I have a 2010 Cube Agree GTC Race - absolutely love it! I think they are better looking than the Madone but that's just a matter of taste I guess.

If you go for Cube, make sure you get sized up right as they seem to come up small. I'd have got a 56 in a Scott, but got a 58 with the Cube and then put a 130mm stem on!

My lbs who also have a website said that the Cube's are flying out - amazing spec for the money!

Are you looking to buy online or a bike shop where you can try one out?

I've been looking for a bike for a good few months now. I'm set on a Cube - just waiting for payday for the last chunk of cash. I was going to get a Agree GTC SL which is around £2200 but am now settled on a Litening HPC for £2400 - Ultegra instead of Dura-Ace on the SL but the frame and the components are better quality. I'm 6ft and the 58 is dead on for me - the 56 was way too small.
For me the bikes are brilliant looking, offer great value and the 3 i've ridden have been wonderful to ride. It was between a Cube and a Felt in the end but the Cube won me over.

I haven't tried a Madone, but I do have an Agree GTC Pro. Love it. The components at each price point on Cubes are noticeably better than most other brands and the frames are still top notch.

Echo what others have said about size, not sure how Cube measure their frames. Mine is a 56cm which is the equivalent of a 53/54cm in most brands.

Inifinty cycles in Durham have/had a 2010 GTC Pro for £1100 in 53cm (I guess equivalent of about 51cm) which if it's the right size is seriously bargainous! (unless they've already sold it) - it was advertised on their facebook page.

I plan to probably make the same upgrades as Jethro!

I was in a similar point over a year ago...

Loved the test ride on the cube (cant remember the exact name, but carbon , ultegra etc)

Then while waiting for my work to sort the bike to work scheme, in teh final week to get a go ahead, a Trek Madone 5.2 went on sale at my LBS, fitted me.

I test rode it, and the quality of the frame stood out above the cube, just left more responsive, stiffer yet incredibly comfortable.

Was sold..... (mind you this was a 2008 model, not a current 2010,2011that I keep hearing mutterings that they are not as good, i do like the ant+ cande and speed sensor in the chainstays though!)

  • Trek or Cube? Will it matter that much?
  • The TREK is a better frame with a better pedigree.

Lifetime warranty has to be a big motivator to buy. Also a FREE crash replacement program for the original owner
