Pumping up HED 3 wheels

that looks like the thing I need but will it permanently replace the head of my current pump??0

I think you put that onto the valve, then clamp your track pump onto the bit that pokes out.0

I had a head like that for my disc wheel and it didn't get a good connection at all when I stuck it in the normal head of my track pump. The two didn't fix together firmly enough.
Luckily I had another crappy old track pump lying about and I took the head off that and jubilee clipped the disc adapter head in its place (directly on the end of the hose). Worked much better.
Means I now take 2 track pumps to races, bit of a pain really...0 -
Easy one this.
Forget the other adaptor.
Get one of these:
They sell 'em on Ebay and elsewhere and the 'straight' end fits directly into the head of your track pump.
I am a Hed3 user and it works fine.
I also use a piece of cut down wine cork to wedge the pump adaptor in the valve recess(otherwise it will just fly off) - so it is a one man job.
You will see a lot of people at events using helpers to pump up their discs etc.
No need with this set-up.0 -
When I bought my Hed 3 wheels a few years ago, they came with an adapter, the same one as shown on the Total Cycling site. You push the long end into your track pump, lock it in position, the push it down onto the open Presta valve. For normal wheels you just unlock it from the track pump, and that's you.0

I seem to recall that there is one model of Zipp disc that this one doesn’t fit/work with but Hirame has another model of pump that does. The other adapters shown above just don't cut it.I’m a sprinter – I warmed up yesterday.0
