Groupset?

Ok so with my £1300 budget I have got it down to 2 potentials for my new bike.
Option 1:
Planet X SL Carbon with SRAM Red shifters, Front Mech, Rear Mech and SRAM Apex Chainset. Own Brand Wheelset
Option 2:
Ribble Sportive Racing with full Campag Centaur including Carbon Power Torque Chainset and Carbon Shifters. Campag Khasim Wheelset
Both around the £1200 mark so my main question is which to go for, Is the Campag full Groupset better than a SRAM Red / Apex / own brand kit?
Advice Please.

Even as a Campag man the SRAM is tempting but the own brand wheels push me back to the Campag option.Neil

That was my thought, the Campag is the full groupset including brakes whereas the SRAM is just shifters and front/rear mech. My concern is wheelset too, as this is where most people notice added bulk etc.0

The Planet X wheels may well be lighter than the Campag Khamsins though. The Campag wheels are fine but a bit on the heavy side. As for groupset, try the different shaped hoods and see which you prefer for changing gear with. The Sram red is top of their range but the Campag is decent too. Having said all that, I'd be more inclined to go by which frame suits best. Good luck, half the fun of getting a new bike is the choosing. If suffer we must, let's suffer on the heights. I'm also a Campag man, and can vouch for the lovely ride quaility of the Ribbble Sportive Racing frame. Option 2 for me!0

Planet x model B (I assume this is what we are talking about here?) are lighter than campag khamsins.
I had khamsins on an old bike and had no complaints with them but honestly they wouldn't be the reason to pick one of those bikes over the other, they are only £90 brand new!
Having said that I would probably go with a ribble, but the Stealth frame, same build comes in at circa £1300 on that frame and allegedly it is the same as a DeRosa. Not climber, not sprinter, not rouleur0 -

If you can try out any bike with the different groupsets. Some people don't get on with certain hood shapes. It will be costly if you go for one of them and find it uncomfortable!Expertly coached by http://www.vitessecyclecoaching.co.uk/

I dunno, but it's a slightly strange combination of SRAM Red and Apex, Force throughout would seem more logical ( that's what I have ) from the price/performance point of view.
You don't say what the SRAM brakes are : Apex?
Agree that you should try to test both Campag and SRAM style shifters.0
