Got a fantastic 30 piece Lifeline tool kit as a birthday present. Open it up and suddenly think, I don't actually know what most of the tools do!!! Then spent a few hours doing research about each tool. Anyone else have similar problems when they get new kit??

If they're small you could fit them in a saddle bag. Not quite sure why you need them on the bike though

Congrats on getting the toolkit Dirk. Of course you now have to buy all new parts so you can 'practice' replacing the old ones

    Chain lube
Vibrate the muck off hard to clean bits
    Pink fluffy emergency bike lock
Whip slower riders and peds out of the way
Glow in the dark to be seen by lights
    Ribbed & Flavoured overshoes
Gimp mask for when its too cold & wet for just a buff
Full rubber suit for the aerodynamic TT types in here

I may have over analysed this

Do what I do; take the bike to bits just for the fun of it!

It does have practical benefits in that you do become quite good at it, and nothing ever seizes up because you remember to clean and grease the threads and bearings on reassembly. It's also much easier to clean individual components than an entire, spiky, greasy, muddy bike.

Always ckeck that you don't have any bits left over though!
