Hi guys
im thinking of trying some cyclocross racing, well its going to be next year now.
Im looking at some frames to build up but is it true you need to have a smaller frame in cyclocross than you road bike?
i ride a scott addict and thats a 56 so would i have to have a 54 in cyclocross?
im 5ft 11 tall with a 32-inch inseam.
thanks

For CX most ride a frame a little smaller i.e. 1-2cm. You don't need as extreme a bar position either as control is more important than aerodynamics, often running the stem a little shorter and higher - keeping the weight central but also the ability to get the weight back over the rear for more traction.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

I should have said that some cross frame geometry is different from the road - BB height can be as much 1cm higher for ground clearance therefore you want a bit more standover clearance - you may want to compare the Scott road v cross frame geometry.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

i think il just have to go to my local bike shop and try comparing the sizes on a few different cross bikes.
