Looking around I see that for around £1800 I can either pick up a "Second Hand" Ultegra Madone or a New Ultegra Caad10.

I will be using this bike for events, sportifs etc, and may even commute in it once ever 2 weeks or so , during the summer, on dry days only.

So, based on the above, what would be best to buy ?

If it were me, I'd get the Cannondale.

Might also be worth looking at the Synapse, if you fancied something a little less "racy"
Not climber, not sprinter, not rouleur

This. IIRC the CAAD 10 geo is very similar to the Super Six, which is their race bike. The Synapse is more relaxed and therefore more suitable for what you want to do.

As always, the answer is 'Try them all'! :)
  • I'd get the caad but I'd get it from france and save 400 quid
