after drying it you do lube it?
dont worry if it is not worn out just use it."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Agreed.
The best thing to clean your chain I find is normal Kerosene. It degreases the chain to almost a new look. Wipe away the excess and leave to dry off.
Then apply your lubricant of choice and no rust will have appeared.
I use this method on my commuting bike once a week and the chain still looks like new, even though I have still been riding through the harsh winter.0 -

keep it well lubricated and as clean as you can - the pins and rollers are the important parts as this is where the lube needs to be.
a small amount of surface rust on the flat plates on the outside of the chain is little to no problem...if it gets bad, it shows that you're not using a lube that's resistant to washing off, you're leaving the chain too long after cleaing it before lubricating, or you're cleaning all the lube off the outside of the chain by wiping it too soon after applying the lube - leave it at least an hour, overnight is best, before wiping off the excess.0
