Dooring is when the driver or passenger of a car opens a car door into or in front of a cyclist. Car doors can be seriously blemished or damaged, either by an inattentive cyclist inconsiderately slamming into the door, or by a cyclist brushing by the exterior of the car after the driver or passenger notices the approaching cyclist and quickly closes the car door...The good news is that the property damage and inconvenience caused by dooring are totally preventable. Public transportation is available in most dense urban areas, and pedestrian sidewalks are ubiquitous, enabling cyclists to switch to more responsible methods of transportation while reducing the problems caused by mixing incompatible vehicle types on our roads.

    hahaha!!!

"Ultimately, dooring and other measures that reduce the number of bicycles on the road will alleviate congestion rather than the other way around."

    - Whatever dude...

I can't work out whether you have actually found an American citizen with a wacky sense of humour or a wacky American citizen without one!

"Please don't put our stickers where they don't belong, including on other people's property."

    I think it's the former.

He's a nutter who will delight at seeing all the HTTP referrals coming from a cycling forum. Honestly, I would modify the original post so it isn't clickable so people have to copy and paste the address instead.

If they're US based then I think someone needs to alert them to the road regulations out there.

That is if its not a joke.

Pretty sure it's a joke. There's a link somewhere on the site to anti-dooring.org which is a dead link now, but I suspect it was was a genuine campaign site to raise awareness about dooring, and this was a send up of it.

Any American who suggests that people should use public transportation is clearly a 'socialist', and should therefore be jailed (unless he is from Vermont where he stands a chance of being elected to the Senate).

They do have a point. It's such an inconvenience having to spend an afternoon removing those unsightly blood stains from your car door when you would rather be spending the time beating your wife or tinkering in your nuclear bomb proof backyard bunker.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernie_Sanders ... amazing but true

Personally I think that the antidooring website is a fine example of american satire ("As a bicyclist, I pledge to stop riding my damn bike on the street.")... but I could be wrong :D

It is certainly a (possibly tasteless) spoof of e.g. http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=36285486812

Satire usually has a few people visibly in on the joke.. its poor satire imo.

Cant remember where I saw it, but there was a vid and an article on dooring where someone comment went: "those who door a cyclist must be executed by having a bicycle ride repeatedly over their face".It was sick but I still laugh over it.
