The down button has stopped working on my Edge 305. Not the end of the world, but Garmin want £68.08 to replace we refirbished unit. Tempted but if I'm paying this might as well pay some more and get an upgrade. I aslo lost my HRM recently no idea how it has to be either in the office, at home or strapped to my chest......

Question - I'm sure the button breakage is a simple fix if only I could get into the unit. Anyone now how or have a service manual?

  • No manual, but there are plenty of online "amateur" guides to opening the case, etc - mostly related to replacing the battery or re-soldering the connections that come loose on a lot of the 305 units.

Here is an example, but there are plenty of others around...

My down button has stopped working as well, understandably as it's no longer there due to the unit breaking in to a few parts upon hitting the tarmac. Still works though :)

    Haven't tried the above ...
