A new helmet or a beanie?

My cycling instructor said that my very cheap Argos helmet is perfectly ok and i have no need to change it.
I noticed he had a Bern helmet but what appealed to me was the winter lining that was made to fit under it. I have been offered a dakine fleece beanie with a G2 that does not have the lining but i fear it will end up cramped and uncomfortable under a helmet not designed for it.
My current helmet does tend to slip around and so the deep format of the Bern would be an improvement. I find my current scullcap not warm enough for really cold weather. At £80 the Bern G2 is not cheap, but that lining is something I would really like because my ears get very cold. Recently I had to stuff the top of the helmet with plastic bags because my head was so cold. I would also like a helmet that stays fixed on my head and protects more than just the upper part of my head.
What seems to make the bern so expensive is their special lightweight protective lining. Are there any other makes that will do the same for me, in terms of warmth and closeable vents, without that level of cost? The demon sig looks similar but at half the price. If i have to I will buy the G2 because freezing is not my idea of fun, but i would like your comments first.

Just get a skull cap for around a tennerCarlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos0

Just on that alone i would say you need a new helmetCervelo S5 Ultegra Di2.0 -
You need a new helmet and a scull cap (Santini from Prendas). Then ride harder, you'll soon warm up. If you have a helmet any bigger than to go over a scull cap you might find it too lose in the Summer.Pegoretti
