seatpost length

simple question i hope

when a seatpost is advertised as 350mm where is it measured from?

bottom of post obviously, but is it always to saddle rail or top of the clamp or....?

    bottom to centreline of saddle rail - workable length = overall minus minimum insertion length ~ 70mm
    Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
