Last day of break for me before classes start, day of relaxing, and if weather permits a cheeky little ride. Trying to get a computer sold has resulted in about 50 scammers emailing me, including one by name "Fred Perry", who insists it is not a scam and wants me to send the laptop, afterwards I will be reimbursed for my efforts. He also has a good enough understanding of German to use the word gift, which in german means poison. He wants to buy the laptop as poison for his cousin in Canada.

Funny times these days with the scammers.

Anyways, morning all!

    Good Morning Freaks!

First commute in to the new office today and I must say it was pretty good. Had a bit of a to-and-fro battle with another commuter, who ended up at the new office – this could be good… Bit of an increase in the daily mileage as well.

Now to hunt down some bacon and coffee. :D

  • Definitely Garfield syndrome today.. "I hate Mondays.."
Traffic was crap today, so I guess everyone's back at the grindstone now..
Just another day passing away time today, although it should be a busy one, so hopefuly time will fly past..

Found out I have a meeting this afternoon, at Alton Water, so I could have bought the bike in :(
Plus side is that I've got an invite to a meeting in London on Friday so I might just happen to visit some bike show that's apparently happening.

Yah morning all hope you had a good weekend.

I went out in Firday morning's blizzard simply because I was all fired up to go whatever the conditions and had a miserable ride through virgin mushy snow, the kind of snow where you stop pedalling and you stop dead.

After that, things could only get better and Saturday was a balmy 5 degrees with a bit of sun, but the official trails were caked in a kind of mud-coloured jelly stuff so I gave them a miss. Just regular mud off-piste so not too bad at all.

Sunday was positively tropical - double figures in the sun - and it felt almost spring like at times. Had a good spin round the North Side, it was very quiet.

    Back to the grind today...

  • Morning everyone. Well, my weekend on lameness is turning into a week of lameness.

It was really icy in Pudsey (the town, not the bear) this morning. It was black ice too, so I turned a corner, and the front wheel washed out. I now have a nicely swollen and grazed knee, and a grazed hip. Also, my minion phoned in sick today, so I have noone to do things for me

I need pig related sandwiches me thinks.
It takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it does to have tried and succeeded.

  • Well, day got even better!

Walking past the local bike shop, and coming running after me was the mechanic there who is a good friend of mine. He picked up a few parts for a new wheelset that would be perfect for my bike, and said a price that I couldn't say not to. Hope pro 2s in gold, with some rim, cant remember exact model and some light weight spokes. Weighing in at 1450 grams. And best part, since his best friend is my father in law, he's letting me pick them up with just a small deposit, and pay when i've got more cash.

Oh man it's a good day.

Yeah I know, perfect price, perfect weight, that's about 400 grams savings from my current wheels, which i'm going to save for bike parks, and use these wheels for the trails in my area, as they are not so technical for the most part. And they look proper bling! Been waiting for something like this for a long time!

    Happy bunny today!

My lungs are currently trying to escape my chest via my mouth, so I'm knocking back inhuman amounts of cough medicine. I might just go back to bed...
