Went today (for free with my students) and............
Meh!
A very mediocre affair - not much there at all I thought. I did pick up the 2011 Pinarello brochure though and I got myself shown round an £8.5 mil Gin Palace
The bike show bit was mostly shops selling complete bikes, no real componentry there and only a few clothing stores. The Layzene guy didn't even have anything actually for sale
On the plus side - my credid card remained intact (although I'm having serious thoughts about a Freelander).0 -
Did you buy anymore bits Gaz?

Yo guys
Didnt get owt else in the end, left not long after and had a wander around Camden instead.
With regard to Superstar, they are considering bringing out the bikes, and they would be fully customisiable. The ginner guy did say it wouldn't be until next year though, but they were very nice looking prototypes.
He also said that the loating rotors would be in stock soon0 -

Next summer he told me,oI said I'm not allowed a new bike yet and he said that It'll be next year now, whetjer he meant in time for 2012 launches I dunno, but he did say that they were only looking into reaction at the minute, and that they were aiming at the boardman market area0 -

They said that at BR Live too
apparently they were redesigned as the rotors were catching on twin pot calipers, so they were sent back to the drawing board and have been completely redone, hence the delay, I'm sure he said they were about 4-6 weeks away and that theres some other stuff coming in stock next week0 -
Some pics from the show on the IMB facebook page - including the Superstar prototype:

I went on saturday, i was impressed by the forest track and pump track, a shame they didn't have better bikes for the forest track, a couple of good ones, a commencal absolute sx and a saracen ariel, but the rest were £500> hardtails. I'd of liked to try some of the orange/transition/santacruz bikes
Superstar was good, liking the new am frame, but they said frame only would be £1000!! hopefully it will be a bit less, but £1600 is a good price for the whole bike. The new superstar seatpost sounds good, 400mm, lots of colours and sizes, light, and £22. I think i might get the switch/am490 wheelset soon, with orange hubs, gold rims, and an orange 10mm qr on the back (maxle on the front). It got a great review on here.Hardcore hardtail:

And a single speed commuter bike:

See I thought both of them looked like giants at the time, about both the bikes, when he first asked me what I thought, I presumed he maent what did I think of a bike made up with superstar bits? . I wasn't aware of any pricing on it though, all I was told was that the price range would attack the boardman target market as, admittedly they were good products, but many people were still put off by the stigma of having a Halfords bike.0

How light did they consider light to be?Visit Clacton during the School holidays - it's like a never ending freak show.
