Gisburn Ice
Anyone get caught out by the ice on the fire road at the bottom of the first hill today? 3 of us did some kind of synchronised fall and slide arrangement
Must admit though - big respect to my lid....certainly saved my noggin as I hit the ground. Can't believe there were people out today without one on!!

Yep, and I was in a 4 x 4. Very nasty in places, trails themselves weren't so bad though, at least on the lower loop.
I got caught last weekend, crashed on the staircase at the end of Homebaked, front wheel washed out and I think that was ice related as the rocks are usually very grippy. It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.
I've bought a new bike....ouch - result
Can I buy a new bike?...No - no result0 -
I found gisburn ok on the 2nd apart from picking your own line on Hully Gully wasn't the easiest thing due to frozen tyre tracks chucking you into someone else's line from previous rides. Was expecting a few of the rocky sections to be icy but it was all good!0

Yeah, the trails weren't too bad but I'm still a beginner so my backside was twitching on the upper loop.
And I bottled the boardwalks - balance isn't great in the dry - never mind on the icy wood!!
Big respect to the experienced riders who were powering through!0
