    Out today in my Xmas softshell jacket plus layers elsewhere, it was cold and frosty. Lots of gentle pedalling in places where the sun had not reached but glorious sunshine. Lifts the spirits like nothing else :D

    Mudguards really do matter, they keep the muck off the bike as well as yourself.

  • Wouldn't have been without mudguards this weekend - riding companions were a lot dirtier than I was. Great thing about mudguards is that by keeping you dry for longer, they help keep you warm - nothing chills like drenching yourself in cold water. (Another vote for Crud Road Racer IIs - Pete 'Mr Crud' Tomkins is an old friend from my mountain bike days so I may be biased though.)

    Today was a day for keeping well clear of the gutters though!
