Years ago, possibly 2002 or something, I did a ride with a friend.
He got it out of a magazine.
It was the full Brecon gap ride.
I've drawn what I remember of the route here:

I'm just wondering if someone has the official route.
I remember cycling through the end of Merthyr, but I'm a bit sketchy about the route back to the start after the big climb up from the Brecon valley.

I'm sure there's a better map than this somewhere

I've got a paper copy of this I can scan if you want.

Your route is longer and, well, entirely different to the mb-wales one. It looks like a cracking ride too! See I thought the Taff trail went east of talybont reservoir (as does my route), according to your Bing map it's adjacent to the A470.

There was a 30 mile version of this wasn't there? Perhaps MB-Wales have scaled it back from black to red.
  • I have got a copy of The Gap route I purhased it as part of a map pack from the Tourist Information Centre at Crickhowell.

There are a few different versions of the loop, I aso remember MBR doing a copy of the route but I can't remember what issue.[/b]
  • Thanks, but those are the new gap ride.
I did the original gap ride that included Merthyr.
