At the same price, which of these two is the better spec? and by how much? what is the difference between the fox f100 and the rock shox reba race - is there much in it? I don't know that much abuot them but for some reason my head tells me to get the one with the fox forks as for some unkown reason I think they will be better than the rockshox - is this just clever advertising that makes me think that? I think the phrase is win win.

However you mess up the decision you still get a top class fork that you will like.
Why would I care about 150g of bike weight, I just ate 400g of cookies while reading this?

Very little in it when set up correctly - but the Reba Race is much more adjustable with dual air chambers, travel adjust, low speed compression damping and blow off force adjust. The F100 is a little lighter though.

    Personally I'd take the Reba.

Thanks, I am sure I will be happy with whichever I get but I was kind of hoping there would be a unanimous verdict one way or the other. What about the Elixir vs Formula RX? I think I prefer Number 1 - the only thing which really had me going for 2 is the fox forks, but actually number 1 is lighter overall so the weight of the fork does not affect it much

Fox are expensive for what you get in my opinion - RS tend to be cheaper for more features.

What about the brakes and wheelsets?

Dont know anything about the Ringles, but the DT are a well regarded set. Brakes, many prefer the Formula. Little in the chainsets

I'm pretty sure they are both Cube's?

I would go for no. 1 with the Reba. wheelset's I know the DT swiss are pretty light and tough. My experiences with Sun rims have been good too though. Dt Swiss probably have an edge here though.

Both are good, Formula's are probably a bit better, but set up well and there won't be a very noticeable difference in it.

Not sure how much you are spending, but these are also a very good deal.

yes, they are both cubes. number one is £1,214 number two is £1,198. so far number 1 seems to have more support, but I will be buying on monday - so hopefully more votes and comments will accumulate over the weekend to help me decide :)

The 120mm travel, and therefore slacker angles will also be a nice bonus on the descents.

    rockshox before fox

    formula before avid

problem with that is that 1 has RS and Avid, 2 has Fox and Formula :)

I have thought this from getting my no.2. But the frames are the same on both just different paint jobs? Why aren't there 120mm forks on the AMS Pro RX?
I have no.2 and its great. I also have RS reba on the other bike and they do seem to be plusher and have more adjustment.

    Cheers.

The Forks will make more of a difference to your riding than the brakes.
