Central list of English Sportives?

I am looking to do at least one sportive this year, my first.
Is there a governing / overriding body or similar which lists such events and difficulty? Some mags list some events but I would like to find a definitive list and work out a pick from there.
I did a quick search here but nothing came up.

I think there are also sportives listed on the BC website but to be honest I have always found the cyclosport website the most useful.0 -
