    Yes, but do they deserve knighthoods or whatever honours they will no doubt get for winning the Ashes series? They simply beat an inferior team.

    I think the cricket team can legitimately say this. Otherwise, 'We' didn't win anything. I'm a huge cricket fan, but unfortunately I wasn't selected to play. Thus I didn't win the cricket.

    I think that if you've suffered throughout the many England defeats over what seems a lifetime, genuinely feeling ''we lost,'' you have a perfect right to say ''we won'' when your - or your team's -moment finally comes.
