Shoe Sizes

I got a pair of DHB R1 cycling shoes for Chrimbo from my lovely wife, but I'm unsure on the size.

I'm a 10 so ordered a 45 and they're a bit tight on my 3/4/5th toes on my right foot. But they're not far off a perfect length as I've got a good finger width at the end of the shoe. I can wiggle my big and 2nd toes ok, but none of my other toes.

I'm guessing that a 46 is going to be to big and might slip - so I might be better "stretching" the shoes a bit.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Sounds like DHB shoes maybe just don't fit your foot shape. I'd maybe try a 46 and if they're too big go for another brand instead.
    More problems but still living....

Sorry, you're asking a forum whether a pair of shoes will fit you? Are you expecting an accurate answer?

    Ish

More what sort of fit I should expect from a pair of cycling shoes (these are my first). How tight they should feel, what sort of mvement in them I should expect that sort of thing.

Go to a shop - it's a contact point so you need it to be comfortable.
  • agreed, if they are your first pair buy face to face from a dealer.

i had a similar problem, as ive big funny shaped feat and rather than buy the expensive fancy shoes i wanted an experienced dealer pointed me to the correct fitting shoes for me size and foot shape

make sure you go somewhere too where you can try at least 4 or 5 different brands, and get the shape and stiffness advice you need

    if not:

i like my shoes to be a touch on the large size as i find my feet expand a bit with heat and i like a decent thick sock when riding.

    good luck !!!

Just to finish this one off I went to an LBS today and tried on various Shimano and Mavic shoes and bought a pair of Mavic Avenir for £85.

Very very comfy so i'm looking forward to giving them an outing or two soon.

Off to send the DHB's back

From what I've read the DHB's are a similar fit to Shimano (quite narrow), as you say you can't just keep increasing the size hoping the width will get sorted or you'll end up with clown shows. interesting on the Mavics, I found them pretty tight in a shop test - personally I get on OK with Spesh s-works but even then there's no room for winter socks.

    Try this:

Its not accurate as I need a 43 Time shoe and a 44 Specialized and Sidi so not altogether that reliable...
