I am in a dilemma over what bike to get on my cycle to work scheme. Due to holiday I was only left with 2 days to chose the value of my voucher and so it was rushed! Scheme is run with Halfords so popped in and managed to get some prices on the 2011 Boardman, and have since come to find out that Halfords can get other makes in at full retail price. Originally I was going to wait for the new range of Boardmans likely to be available in April, but now can't decide whether to wait or get another bike now. I have a £1800 voucher to purchase the bike.

Current options

Boardman 2011 Pro Carbon £1799
Felt F5 £1700
Felt Z5 £1800
Cube Agree Pro Compact £1499
Trek Madone 3.1 £1600
Trek 2.5 Compact £1650

Current riding is purely for fun and keeping fit. Looking to do a few longer weekend rides and maybe the odd triathlon.

Any comments or other suggestions would be greatly appreciated

It was on my list but scrubbed off due to Halfords price being £1850. Trek Madone 4.5 was also £1850 so scrubbed. I have an £1800 voucher and cannot add any on to this. Had I done some more investigation I would have asked the questions first and ordered the correct voucher - unfortunately time was not on my side!

If it's a Cycle to Work voucher through Halfords, I believe you can source a bike from Leisure Lakes via Halfords which should broaden your choice, I may well be wrong but it's worth asking the question. Contact Halfords to ask the question.

The company I work for previously used Cycle to Work through Halfords and I particicpated in that scheme for three years between 2007, 2008 & 2009 and all the bikes I had came from Leisure Lakes as I went to the Daventry branch to pick the bike up each year.

Looked at leisure lakes and this adds in the following

Cannondale Synapse 105 Carbon Racing Bike 2011
Cannondale Super Six 105 Racing Bike 2011

Of all purely on looks the F5 is top of my list!
