Xbox game...

I have a £20 game voucher for xmas and I plan on spending it at the weekend....

Now do I get...

1) Fallout new vegas - £20
2) Call of duty black ops - still at full RRP £40.
3) FIFA 2011 - £23

or any others I should look at?

Going to be trading in mass effect 2 and prince of persia - got them with the console and never played them/plan on playing them.

I don't have internet access atm on the Xbox either, which is making me think twice about COD.

Cod isn't really worth it without the internet access, single player is pretty short and boring to be honest.

FIFA is OK, but not really that different than 2010, good fun for playing with a group of mates though.

What about the new Need for Speed or Assassins Creed?

hmmm assasins creed... I forgot there was a new one out! Does it continue the story?
Finished the one before and loved it!

Need for speed got a bit crap after underground 2 IMO, haven't bought one since!

Single player is pretty good in black ops, but New Vegas will surely be a much (MUCH much much much much) longer single player game.
I spent a terrifying amount of time on Fallout3 :oops:

I don't know much about the new Assassins Creed, I only found my copy of the original one the other day and started playing it again! Might have to invest in the other two now though...

The new Need for Speed is pretty decent, I have played it on my brothers PS3, amazing graphics and pretty decent game play, more along the lines of burnout these days. Not being able to pimp up cars is a bit rubbish though.

Fallout 3 was epic but full of bugs! I have no idea how many hours I wasted away on that game... didn't even get close to completing it either!

I have heard that new vegas isn't as good though

Hmm.. not convinced by NFS. I've got Forza 3 ayways which is pretty sweet!

well the reason I haven't been posting on here at all over christmas is because I got totally sucked in to Fallout Vegas, can't say if it's as good as Fallout 3 as have not played it, but I've really enjoyed it, good story lines and loads of stuff to do.

Downside is it does have some glitches (loads of disc read errors before i installed it to hard drive - despite the disc being brand new) and the load screens....my god the load screens....if you 'fast travel" to somewhere it will load screen for a while and drop you just outside the door of the place you want to go, then you will have go in the door and load screen again!

But honestly for £17 I've got a lot of hours from it. Also worth mentioning that's its much more of an RPG than a FPS if that's what your after.

Haven't played COd or FIFA=, but i'd also look at Battlefield BC2 and Halo Reach.

I have been playing Fallout New Vegal a LOT lately (not much else to do while the bike is in bits) and it's properly EPIC! Not had any of the glitches M&C has had either. Definately an RPG with shooting involved ratjher than FPS though.

I also got mine from Game btw.

AC Brotherhood is a continuation of earlier ones, but you don't need to have played them to understand it. I have managed just fine. Many MANY hours later I'm about 50% complete and have taken a break to start New Vegas.

N4S Hot Persuit is pretty good for a game when you just want to have a quick go on a game from time-to-time without getting too involved.

Not too struck on CoD, but then I'm not realy into FPS type games so I wasn't excpecting much.

Played Halo reach for like 2hrs then sold it on, hated it, boring boring boring.

Also look at Dead Rising 2 for some mindless zombie slaying action.

i definately wouldnt bother with black ops,

even with the internet im already bored of it and back on modern warfare 2,

assassins creed does look amazing ive been really tempted by that, and fallout looks good too, but i also heard 3 was really buggy

Online shooter is deffo battlefield bad Company 2...I lost more than a few hours of my life to that (and possibly the only reason I am gutted about being so far away from xbox servers).

For single player I'd tentatively say New Vegas. I'm still waiting on my copy arriving but even if it's half as good as Fallout 3 it'll still be twice as good as any other single player game out there. In fact...if you haven't played it then pick up Fallout 3 (sure there is a GOTY edition). I polished off over 70 hours on the game (not including the time spent on all the expansions)

Just completed it right now. Watching the final credits as I type this. Took just slightly over a month.

Having rebuilt Rome to 100%, and completed LOADS of side missions, it's STILL only showing 48% complete though :shock:

I've got soooo much more to go back and do now.

nah youre all wrong, oblivion is still by far and away the best game ever, ive got well over 300 hours of gameplay and still havent done every mission, although i have got all the achievements

Its a bit of a marmite game, but Medal of Honour is less than £20 now, and is a better single player game than Black Ops. Halo Reach is pants...
