Good Morning forumland!

Right, own up. Who's idea was this then?

For the past two weeks I've been going to bed at this time not getting up for work. Today could be a long day!

I suppose I better get a move on anyway...

Catch you later!

    Sup gnomies

I have 1 meeting at 12 today and that is it, nothing to do before hand and nothing to do after  been sitting here since 06:30 as usual

Turns out we may be getting the Cycle to work scheme, so i spent a little time yesterday looking at sub £1000.00 bikes. It would be handy if i could put it towards my new bike but not sure what scheme were getting yet to know if i can do this?

    Anywhoo

  • Morning y'all!
It's a rather quiet day here today, which is good, but a little boring. I've been riding today and yesterday with panniers to work. It's weird not having a bag on my back, but much more comfortable. I find I'm looking to check it's still attached though  It also makes my bike weigh the same as a small moon too!

  • Morning all,

Well, as of today, it looks like I’m going into semi retirement. A dishwasher was delivered and fitted last night, so I’ve now hopefully been relieved of washing up duties all the bloody time. When the wife said we were getting it (a cracking deal from her brother) my 1st response was “Cool, means I get more time to get out on bike in the evening”, I don’t think that was the answer she was looking for but hey ho.

Getting back into the flow of work, it is unfortunately just as boring as I remembered. The job hunt will also be getting back into full flow.

Should also be back to riding to work from tomorrow, have brought in all my bits to leave at work. Driving to work this morning it’s kinda scary the number of cycling ninjas out there, £10 on a set of LED lights people, is that really so much to ask?

Got a couple of chains on their way from CRC, SRAM ones at 45% off so reasonably bargainous. Looking to get a rack bag for the rat bike, but they all seem to start at about £30, I may be having a slight attack of pikey but that just seems a little steep for what is quite a simple little bag.

    Is it 5 yet?

thekickingmule, I found that too when I 1st strapped my bag to the rack instead of my back. The bike felt quite different in the way it handled, especially when sprinting out the saddle.

  • Morning Dudes.

I've got to wait till tonight to go back to work :(

I hate night shifts. I'll spend all day vegging unable to sleep then at 5pm i'll get all tired and want to fall asleep knowing I've got to set off for work an hour later

Really looking forward to the rush hour traffic drive home on the M60 tomorrow morning as I battle to not fall asleep at the wheel

so far today's a bit wooo! Meh....

Wooo! because there's a job I looked at before up for grabs again that pays £75K. The Meh bit is that it's back in London so I'd have to pay nearly £6k for parking and train, plus add another hour on to my daily commute plus heaps more stress making sure one of the largest buildings in the City doesn't stop working properly. Maybe I should just be content with the job I've got? But christ I'm getting bored.

  • Well that's my good day down the drain. Bike shop is closed because of a burst water pipe. Looks like I won't be getting what I wanted today after all. Maybe tomorrow!

    Morning peeps

Today I'm waiting in for a parcel, would normally let them fail delivery and go and collect it from their place in derby, but seeing as it's not my parcel and it's needed fairly urgently I very foolishly agreed to wait for it to turn up.

I also need to drop the frame down at the lbs for a chase and face job, but can't go out until Mr UPS man turns up :(

So I guess I'll be sitting around all day until the delivery man arrives, just after my brother gets back from school...

    Morning gang

Up at 11 a crap of epic proportions, bacon sandwich and a shower and I'm now ready to face the day. Whole day off so I'm off to test out my chrimble presents on the rock climbing wall, which would be fine if I'd had rock climbing equipment lol

Anyone going to the London Bike show a week on Friday? I was going to go on the saturday but as everyone is skint I'm flying solo on the Friday instead

was supposed to be heading back to uni today, but alas no

been up since half 8 (not early really, but the earliest ive been up in 2 weeks)

car started playing up again last night, cutting out randomly and revving really erratically, having had it back a week after having the head gasket done. rung 1 garage who speicalise in electronics who my parents advised me to ring, they no longer do car diagnostics
drove it round to my normal mechanic who cant look at it till tuesday at earliest
rung the guy who done the head gasket, he might be able to look at it tomorrow but hes not sure

so got up early for no real reason, however i have done the bit of work ive been putting off since getting home, and am now bored waiting for a delivery that may or may not be coming, damm royal mail :(

    I'm at work. bored.

Trying to figure out what to do with all the annual leave I've got. Need to have at least 7 days off, as much as 12, before the end of March.

Have you looked at the Brand-X Panniers? I've got these, and for less that £20 they seem really good. I managed to get a change of clothes, my dinner, some shower stuff, bike locks, oil, tools etc. Defintely worth the money. They take a while to come in though. Mine took a couple of weeks, I think they buy them to order.

Yeah, the bike does handle a bit differently, but I've gotten used to it quite quickly. Might just be me, but it feels like I can get more power down now. Time will tell...

Afternoon, been for my first swim of the year, did a mile in just under 40mins. Gonna get ready for work soon and have a early tea, my mother is cooking one of my favourite meals in attempt to cheer me up. Can't be arsed with work. :(

Damn, the best I've managed was 50 lengths (just over 3/4 of a mile) in about 50 minutes.

Then I got cramp and had to doggy paddle to the edge to get out

Pretty much all of that was unpaid leave, thinking about it I really should have made more of it AL instead.

    Good Afternoon Freaks!

First day of the new job today and I’m, as all the cool kids say “Super Stoked”. :D

Office has proper showers, changing rooms and a drying room.

My role will involve discussing “Outdoor” activities, with a specific focus on walking and CYCLING!

My new (female) boss has just bought a £750 mountain bike and is also considering doing a triathlon this year.

There's also an onsite coffee shop that sells resonably priced coffee and bacon rolls. :D
