190mm steerer. Will it be enough?

Hi,

I am thinking of buying a second hand rock shox tora 318sl solo air which I wrote about previously. It has a 190mm long steerer. I have a Carrera Vulcan 08' with a Suntour XCM 100mm of travel. Do you think 190mm steerer length will be enough???

Also the forks have a motion control gauge at the top which says compression. How can I use motion control? This gauge also shows a lock. Can it be used as a lockout?

measure your current setup.... remove forks + measure to be sure.

Only way to know is to measure your current forks.

No need to remove old forks really, just measure from the bottom of the lower headset cup to the top of the stem, that'll give you a good enough idea.
