GPS Issues

Hi all,
has anyone had any issues with acquiring satellites on the Edge 800?
My flat seems to be in a GPS dead zone in London. I can't get any GPS signal indoors (obviously), but when I go into my back garden to get my bike, the device refuses to move past 2 GPS signal bars. Typically, I only get full signal when I cycle down the road for a bit..
(I should note that this only happens at my flat, if I turn the Garmin on anywhere else it's fine).
Problem is, I'm having trouble starting courses where I live (because I can't get the GPS signal)...
Thanks

Tall buildings are notorious for blocking the signal - you need to be able to see a reasonable amount of "sky" else they do take time to get a lock.ROAD < Scott Foil HMX Di2, Volagi Liscio Di2, Jamis Renegade Elite Di2, Cube Reaction Race > ROUGH0

Probably the tall buildings. You might have to start your routes from the end of your roadIf you do what you have always done, you will get what you always got....0

I have no particular knowledge of your GPS however it sounds like the following.
Turn it on outside and it will know from stored data where it expects to find satellites and lock quite quickly.
Turn it on inside and it quickly assumes that it has outdated data or is on the other side of the world since last used and starts to download new data from whatever satellites it can find - which takes time.
If you have the option, can you stop it from trying to find satellites whilst indoors, my Etrex has a demo mode. Once outside select - resume search?
Incidentally, my Etrex will usually find and lock whilst indoors or in cafes etc.0
