my little boy fell over earlier and smashed his mouth, i had hold of his hand so i should have caught him :(

he's got a huge cut inside of his mouth, there was blood everywhere and one of his teeth (that he's had for all of 2 months) will probably need to be taken out :(

It happens mate, one of those things. I've got a 7month old son, and even the little knocks leave you feeling really guilty and that you should have done something. No point beating yourself up over it though, it's happened now!
  • Kev,

It happens, I parked my eldest daughters pushchair outside the park gates at pontymoile, i went to get something out of the car and the wind blew the pushchair overand my daughter banged her head she had a lump on her head the size of a golf ball.

A visit to Panteg hospital ,followed aswell as a rollickin of the mrs and i felt terrible

I was at Centre parcs a couple of years ago when some grand parents who were looking after the grandkids took their eyes of the push chair for just a second and the stroller roled down the bank and into the lake with child strapped in, i bet they felt worse.

Don't worry he'll get over it until he gets older and turns on the emotional blackmail for extra pocket money.

    Hiya Welshkev,

It's part of parenthood, you can't be there 100% of the time and even if you are there there's often nothing you can do!

My son is now 14, he snapped his tibia at 4 fighting with his friend, 5 years leter he shattered his elbow at the park when he fell off monkey bars (reconstructive surgery and 2 titanium pins) and broke his other wrist 2 years later when he fell off his skateboard.

He's been playing rugby for 4 years and the last incident 6 weeks ago resulted in him smashing his lower lip which needed a specialist surgeon to stitch it back to together, at the same time he loosened his front tooth so we're expecting that to die and turn black anytime soon. But as mentioned above, boys love scars!

Kids are far tougher then anyone can imagine but there's simply nothing you can do to avoid accidents.

 , excuse my immaturity, but I found that quite funny (as long as you're not about to tell me that the kid died  )

Don't beat yourself up welshkev, sounds like he's already got over it and if he's gonna ride with you when he's older, it will probably be the first of many faceplants  !
