Compression tights are only thin lycra and don't offer the same thermal and windproof benefits as some decent winter tights if it's colder than 5 degrees.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

I wear compression tights under my shorts year-round. Personally I find them warm enough.

Simple test: go for a ride with yours under your shorts and if you are warm enough - job done. If not, look into getting something warmer.
  • I use them as a "base-layer" if I'm in the cold for any length of time usually watching sport and I wear only them all year round on the bikes, long in winter and shorts in the summer..
They have always been warm enough for me... :D

My compression tights seem to work to make my legs cooler ? I'd not wear them as cycling kit - just for recovery from long runs.
