Garmin 800 Base map

Apologies if this is a nummo question, but, would I be right in thinking the built-in base map is only relative to the country of purchase?

Be nice to all cyclists - you may want to borrow a pump one day :-)

  • No, it's a world map, at a very very low level of detail. Only useful for getting between major cities on very major roads.

  • I have the 705 your base map is just a low level map of the uk or maybe the world

    I have been using the open source maps available on the internets

    with no problems following gpx routes imported into the garmin
