I am currently putting a bike together/collecting parts and would like to get the shimano slx double crankset with bash guard, seems like a good bit of kit with very good reviews for the money. My question is what shifter to use as the only ones i have seen are for triple cranksets exept the saint shifters which are pricey but if they are all thats available thats what it will have to be. I have no idea about setting up gears etc so im sorry if i am missing something obvious. Thanks.

Thanks for that, had a feeling it would be a straight forward thing. My LBS will be putting the bike together i just didn't want to cause problems and delays by having the wrong thing. cheers.

be careful to not click in to the third as this will damage the system.

Just set the limit screws so it won't shift too far.
