Hi all,
I am looking to upgrade from my trusted hybrid (Scott Sportster) to a new road bike. I have narrowed selection to 3 options:
1) Bianchi C2C Via Nirone 7 Veloce 2010
2) Cannondale CAAD 8 Tiagra CD 2011
3) Specialized Secteur Elite 2010
My Considerations:
1) Distance --- I am riding Land's End to John O'Groats next summer. Need a bike that can do the distance and help me up the hills
2) Triathlons --- I am hoping to begin competing in triathlon's in 2012. Want a bike which can see me through my first few seasons
My initial lean is towards the Specialized (given the higher specs - Shimano 105 and Tektro dual pivot brakes and slightly more relaxed sitting position).
Appreciate any thoughts / experiences you can share. Thanks!
Deborah

Hello Deborah,
I've got the Secteur Comp 10, got it to do a London to Paris in May next year and I love it. Very comfortable, I put a slightly shorter stem on, 90mm compared to the 110mm stock stem as I have short arms!. I've done 50 miles without feeling beaten up.
105 is very smooth and the brakes are good for the money too.
Highly recommended, especially if you can get it at sale prices.
I am a bit of a Specialized fan, I've hjust ordered the Roubaix as a real 'treat' bike and my girlfriend has the Vita Elite 2011 which she loves.
Hope this is of help.
